How to Create a QR Code Menu for Your Dubai Restaurant
A QR code menu lets guests read your dishes on their phone. For a Dubai restaurant or café it means no sticky laminated menus, no reprints when a price changes and one menu that serves tourists, residents and delivery customers alike.
Two ways to build a QR menu
Link to a file or page you already have. If your menu is a PDF or a page on your website, create a URL QR code that points to it. Make it dynamic and you can swap the file later without reprinting the table cards.
Use a mobile menu page. The restaurant menu QR code gives you a page with categories, photos, prices and descriptions that loads quickly on mobile data and is easy to edit.
Step by step
- Decide which route fits: existing PDF or built menu page.
- Create the QR code and add your logo and brand colours.
- Download SVG for print and PNG for social media.
- Print table cards at least 3 cm wide with a clear margin around the code.
- Test the printed card on an iPhone and an Android phone, in the lighting of your dining room.
What to put on the table card
- A short line such as "Scan for menu".
- The short web address in text, for guests who cannot scan.
- A WhatsApp QR code for orders and bookings, and a Google review QR code for after the meal.
- A WiFi QR code if you offer guest WiFi.
Mistakes to avoid
- A menu PDF that is huge or not designed for phones. Keep files light and text readable without zooming.
- Putting the code behind glass with glare, or on a dark glossy surface.
- Forgetting guests who prefer paper. Keep a few printed menus available.
- Using one static code and then changing your website address, which breaks every printed card.
Keeping the menu current
With a dynamic code or a built menu page, price changes, specials and sold-out items go live at once. If you use scan tracking, you can also see which tables or sections get the most scans.
