A dynamic QR code does not hold your web address directly. It holds a short redirect link that you control, so you can send scanners to a new page whenever you like without reprinting a single flyer, menu or sign. Every scan is also recorded, which turns a printed code into something you can measure.
Use a static code when the destination will never change. Use a dynamic URL QR code for campaigns, packaging, shop windows and anything else where a typo, a new offer or a new website address would otherwise mean a costly reprint.
How to create a dynamic QR code
- Open the generator above and choose Dynamic URL.
- Paste the page you want people to land on, for example a landing page, a booking page or your online menu.
- Style the code with your logo, brand colours, gradient or one of the 50+ outlined shapes.
- Download PNG or SVG, print it, and change the destination from your dashboard whenever you need to.
Where dynamic QR codes pay off
- Printed menus and brochures that outlive a price change or a new website.
- Campaigns with several placements: give each poster or flyer its own code and compare scans by city and device.
- Packaging and product labels that must keep working after a site migration.
- Events where the agenda link changes close to the day.
Tips for a QR code that scans first time
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best.
- Keep a logo to roughly a fifth of the code width so error correction can do its job.
- Send people to a mobile-friendly page, because almost every scan comes from a phone.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the link after I print the QR code?
Yes. A dynamic QR code points to a redirect that you can edit at any time from your dashboard, so the printed code keeps working.
Can I see how many people scanned my QR code?
Yes. Statistics show the number of scans, the time, the country and city, and the device or operating system.
Do I need to pay to try dynamic QR codes?
No. You can start a free 15-day trial without a credit card. Static QR codes remain free.
What happens if my plan ends?
Dynamic codes work while the plan is active. Static codes never expire, so use them for anything that must work forever.
